When making purchase suggestions in buying fine art we advise on market trends, relative value, and, of course, quality. While we rarely advise clients to buy art with investment as the primary objective, we do help them make wise decisions.
We use our global network to source art whether from private collectors, dealers or at auction. We provide recommendations, market reports and research as well as advising on authentications and licenses.
We can negotiate discreetly on behalf of the client and also offer a comprehensive range of auction services, which includes private bidding.
Our commissions are much lower than the industry standard and are very fair.
TEFAF in New York and Maastricht, Art Basel and Art Basel Miami, The Armory in New York, FIAC and the Biennale in Paris. We often walk with clients, introducing them to dealers and developing their knowledge.
While we spend a lot of time conducting research for our clients, there is nothing more valuable than seeing an artwork in person. Many of our clients are not able to view works themselves and rely on us to give accurate assessments of market value.
We helped a client buy this in 2000 and sell it again in 2007 for a gross profit of $14.3m. When buying, our client wasn’t able to view the work personally, and so we were his eyes and his liaison with specialists for inside information. He trusted our opinion and valuation. We urged him to take advantage of market conditions seven years later and helped him obtain an auction guarantee. The $21.8m sale price was a world record for the artists for a short time.
